Regarded as the world’s highest quality and most technically sound suction accumulators, ESK models differ from the mainstream in that their design allows for a 98% liquid level without the possibility of a liquid slug on start-up. Alternative oil collection methods are also less prone to blockages from system particulates. Using any other brand may be doing more harm than good.

ESK

When selecting suction line accumulators the following points must be considered:

  • Relationship between accumulator volume and refrigerant charge. Compressor manufacturers recommend that 50 to 70 percent of the system
charge should be able to it into the accumulator.
  • To ensure ample velocity for oil return, vessels must be selected with consideration for minimal limits, as shown in the table below. Ignoring these
limits may result in compressor failure through lack of lubrication.
  • Optimal and minimum applications are based on connection and ventury sizes, not vessel volume.
